Happy International Women's Day at Halfords Autocentres #BeBoldForChange

In recognition of International Women's Day on 8th March 2017 we want to celebrate our first female MOT Tester in Halfords Autocentres that has qualified through our MOT Tester Level II course.

We are immensely proud that Samantha Park is blazing a trail not only for women but also in the motoring industry, being one of our qualified MOT testers. Samantha is the first female who has attended our Halfords Autocentres MOT Tester Level II Course and gained her MOT qualification.

Samantha is part of the team at Aberdeen where Elidh (Assistant Centre Manager) and Teena (Customer Service Advisor) are all forging a path for women in the male dominated car maintenance industry.

Samantha Park from Halfords Autocentres says: "One of the reasons I was excited about beginning my journey with Halfords Autocentres was the number of opportunities available for those who wanted to further their career. When I started employment I already had my NVQ level 3. During my induction, I was given the opportunity to progress to become an MOT tester which was an ambition of mine and when the company offered help and support I realised it was a good company to invest in to further my career. I have now become the leading MOT tester for Halfords Autocentres in Aberdeen. My next ambition is to gain the hybrid qualification to which I have been accepted to attend. I am looking forward to my next challenge.''

Andy Turbefield Head of Quality & Training from Halfords Autocentres says: ''It gives me a great sense of pride to see Samantha and all of her colleagues develop their careers with Halfords Autocentres.''
