"I am a keen cyclist, I went out for a cycle on Saturday. I got a puncture on Seafield Road at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. I had also forgotten bring my bum-bag, so, no spare tyre or tube, no money. I crossed the road and went into the Halfords Autocentre with the intention of getting the guys to get me a taxi. Anyhow, the guys between them sort things out for me. Halfords retail outlet is about three quarters of a mile away, but I can't push the bike round with LOOK cleats on the soles of my shoes. They phoned the cycle dept. One of the boys took me round in his car with my wheel. They put a new tube in my wheel. He paid for it and drove me back to their shop. Then all I have to do is cycle back home, get my bum-bag and cash enough to settle up my debt, then head back. Job done. On the way back I get something for the guys for their coffee breaks. I thought WAGON WHEELS would be quite apt for the lads. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. I've been telling all my friends about it. In a time where there is a perception of slipping standards of manners and etiquette, this chapter reminds that there still are folks who can do a good turn for others. Thank the guys for me, they saved me a lot of bother."

"I arrived 15 mins before my book in time and was welcomed by a very friendly assistant. Who took my details and confirmed online booking. I had my two children with me and was asked what my plans were. I said I was going to walk to my mothers and await a call to collect my car. After being informed it would take approximately 1 and 1/2 hours to complete, I got a call back just an hour later saying all completed and I could pick up my car. Fantastic quick service ."

"Service was great. I had perviodly visted the centre and they were able to use this information to find the best suited tyres without me having to repeat myself. It only took a couple of hours for my tyres to come in stock and they rang me when I could come in. On completion they told me what they had done and what would need to be done in the near future which I believe is good service."

"The MOT was booked 2 days after calling. Customer service from grant on arriving at the centre was excellent. The mot was carried out quickly and I could pick up my car 2 hours later. I was also impressed there was no hard sell for work on my brakes that will need carried out soon, unlike other garages there was no insistence that I get the work done immediately, as I didn't need it. I appreciated the honesty."

"When I have reduced price MOTs at other centres (kwikfit/national for example) they have always found problems that a small garage would let go as advisory and failed the MOT in order to get work - the outcome has always been that I take my car away and get a local mechanic to get it through. At Halfords the opposite - there were a number of advisorys and I am much more likely to return to get the work done and in future when my car fails an MOT I will know it because it deserves to fail. The customer service was superb too - he even remembered my first name when I called back un-announced. All ruond positive experience and I feel I can trust Halfords autocentres now and will use again and again as a result whereas I have never been back and will never go back to the aforementioned competitors."
