Booked online, told when arrived that my free safety check could not be done as too busy!!, yet when I picked up car staff were doing nothing in car park and place was dead! Why offer a service that you can't commit to?? Customer waiting area : if no one in there expect to wait ages before a member of staff attends to you. Guy before I arrived had been waiting 5mins or more before he went searching for a member of staff. I waited a good 4-5mins for my key to be returned to me. Having said that the staff member was polite.

I was looking to update my road tax when I realised my MOT was due that same day, As a loyal customer to my local garage I knew I'd have to book at least 7 days in advance. I websearched mot's in my local area, Halfords were doing a half price deal so I thought I'd try their services. I registered an account and was able to get booked in the very next morning due to the simple online booking system. When arriving at the garage the staff were very helpful and all paperwork was ready for my car to be mot'd. An hour and a half later, I returned to the garage where I was informed of a failed mot, The work needed in order to pass the test was carried out the very same day. I wouldn't hesitate to use Halfords again in the future, Excellent customer service, communication and value for money.

Service and MoT all done fine. Only issue was that I had to phone them back. The number that they appeared to call me from went straight to a fax machine, and I had to call an 0800 number to a call centre (which I had to pay for) to be texted the phone number of that centre. What a farce.

The Kingston upon Thames Halfords centre is relatively new having opened June 2013 18 months ago. The reception area needs to be more customer friendly, a few nice chairs, coffee tables, two or three daily news papers would appear that you cared about your customers. Go visit Mercedes Benz world at Brooklands for the lavish approach. You don't need to compete with that but soften the warehouse look. Your staff are good. My MOT was delayed by 15 minutes.........shouldn't happen with pre-booked appointments, you are not the dentist who feels it's his right to delay pain for his customers! Doing good, turn up the wick a little to excel!! All best......Graham

I brought winter wheels packed in the back of my estate car. I was so relieved that the mechanics had re packed my summer wheels with precisely the same care as I had. They had placed the same items in the same place to stop them rolling, and put the blankets back in position. All fine but failed to call me when car was ready after having tyres fitted and then got ignored when at reception as the staff just chatted and then made calls. One guy was also pretty rude with his "banter" directed at another customer. Really didn't feel valued and left feeling annoyed. Not planning on using again.

So it was quick to get a space, booked late friday, got a slot first thing monday at 10:45. By 1pm i called for a progress report, still wasnt finished, by 3pm i was told of the repairs, that seemed fair and believable, was told it couldnt be done until wednesday, and they finished tuesday afternoon. The wife picked it up on her way home, i had a quick check of a lightbulb holder that 'failed' the MOT on, and it still wasnt working and it didnt look like a new one,i gave them a call and they did say to just bring it in whevever for a replacement, im just waiting for a convenient time to bring it back in,

So the overall booking and actual service and MOT were OK but I wasn't happy with the way they handled my battery being flat. They called me after i had dropped that car off to inform me my battery was flat (it wasn't flat before) and that I'd need a new one, I asked roughly how much they were expecting them to call back and tell what my actual choices were. Instead they just picked a battery, one of the most expensive ones, and fitted that without agreeing it with me in advance. It turned out they didn't have the own brand Halfords one which was 30 cheaper. They did acknowledge this and provided a 10% discount on the battery they fitted. So all in all, it was OK but I'd just say they really must call customers and agree any extra costs up front.

I arrived at an extremely busy garage I could tell the staff were at full tilt. Despite this I was dealt with efficiently and politely with all timings mentioned adhered to. I very rarely make comment on site surveys but thought I would on this occasion as good service in the UK seems to be at a premium and Barry and the team at Kingston go the extra mile to show what can be done. Keep it up.

Was a bit scared that I chose Halfords to do my MOT as there are a lot of doggies garages around Kingston upon Thames, specially since I was going in for the 29.99 deal. To my amazement Halfords where very good, and did not cost me an arm and a leg like it has previously, they even reduced the price of the labour at it was a very easy problem to fix. the guys also showed me where the exact problems where with the car and not hide anything.

I was booked in for an MOT. On arrival the place was tidy and the reception was manned so no waiting for someone (which is always a good starting point). They were running slightly behind, but got a call after my car had been seen. While it failed, the person that call explained it all very clearly and provided honest advice regarding what should be done. The staff were prompt and kept me in the loop without making me feel like an idiot for not knowing much about cars! I will mostly likely go there again next year if I'm still in the area!

One tyre to be changed. Booked in for an 830am slot so no backlog - having been told it would be half an hour but giving them the benefit of the doubt and returning after an hour my tyre was finally completed after 1hour and 15 minutes. Not swift service by any means. That said the tyre hasn't fallen off the wheel so they did what I went for!

Everything was up to standard except one thing. They didn't tell me, that they didn't check everything. So when I came home I saw a note, that they couldn't check seat belts "because kids car seat were in the car".

I then booked MOT and full service, and again very happy and would use again. I booked an MOT as they were the cheapest. Came the day the car wouldn't start. Phoned them and they said not to worry book it in for another day. This I did and by jump starting the car got it there. They changed the battery and MOT'd the car. It passed.

booked my car in for an overdue MOT. Arrived in good time. Member of staff patiently serving older customer in front of me. Greeted me in turn. Had paperwork to hand. Left car and keys with a promise of a call by a certain time. I returned just before this. Car was done and he was just finishing paperwork. No issues with MOT. 3 advisory items which I agree are an issue. All in I was very happy. Based on this limited experience I had no problems at all.

All the tyres were replaced quickly and there were no extras for tyre disposal nor for provision of valves. The tyres could have been cleaned better, and when I had a refund for not having the alignment done Halfords sent a cheque which is a slightly inconvenient method.

Quite simply 10 out of 10 for Halfords in Kingston. I have been here before and was very impressed and again they have done a great job. All their pricing checked out pretty favourably against the competition but when it is your own car you need to feel you can trust the people sorting it out and I do. That counts for a lot.
