I had my Citroen Picasso MOTd by Halfords at Ardwick Green Manchester. I found the checking in procedure and general friendliness excellent, and the advice on points to watch out for: tyre wear etc. also excellent. Would have given 5 stars but was told I had been texted to say car ready but I never got the message.

i had previously struggled to find a good mechanic in Manchester and have felt ripped off a couple of times by independent businesses. Other mechanics try to make you feel stupid if you don't have the same area of knowledge as them. Decided to use Halfords for my recent MOT as its a trusted name, they didn't let me down. Good telephone manner and they didn't treat me like an idiot. Will use again. Thanks

As 95% of the time whilst using halfords, staff are all polite and happy to help. The only drawback to the whole thing is the price that is charged for everything. I recently chose to service and MOT my car with halfords because I thought the 12 month guarantee was an amazing deal. So you can understand why 6 weeks after the service was done, a light appeared on my dashboard telling me that a service was needed, that I was annoyed. But I thought that as it was covered in the 12 month guarantee that the garage would be happy to run tests and sort the issue for me for the price I paid (roughly 540 with some extra work done). However, apparently what was done on the car wasn't included in the 12 month guarantee and I've been charged for diagnostic tests on the car and potentially more once tests have finished. Leaves a sour taste as the guarantee is misleading. Again, in no way a fault of employees as they are always polite and helpful. Just company policies and regulations that alienate customers in my opinion.
