You were so reassuring and did all you can to ensure I was looked after. You even dropped me at my work so I didn't have to walk all that way. You dealt with my car straight away, had the new replacement piece delivered immediately so I could continue my daily rounds to see my patients. I took my car for a pre-booked (8:30) slot for a complete set of tyres which, according to the web site, should take around one hour - I thought that this was a long time, but the price was competitive with other local fitters. I arrived at 8:15, and was dealt with promptly. The wheels were taken off the car straight away - then nothing for a long time ... Eventually finished at 10:15 - two hours after beginning the work, (1.75 hours from the booked time). The job was done well, as far as I can tell, but then again at £530 that's what I'd expect. So, work quality good, but far too slow.
I find the team at Halfords (and the same applies to the same team under the previous company name) extremely helpful and reliable.
I booked my car in to have the aircon regassed intending afterwards to book my wife's car in too. The online booking process was simple and within minutes I had located a convenient centre and booked in the first car. Basically I entered the car reg and my post code and the site identified my car and offered me a list of conveniently located centres and, having chosen one then up popped a calendar and I chose my date and drop-off time. Sadly the first car could not be regassed as it had a serious leak - Halfords don't do repairs, but knowing that I was intending to book a second car in they kindly switched the job over to the second car and made no charge for the first one. The second car was successfully regassed with no problem and its aircon is now working well. The price was £20 cheaper than I normally pay so good value for money.

Halfords were very efficient and made getting an MOT hassle free and at a good price. I wish I had known in advance that the retest is not free if you leave site and get repairs done at a later date.
Booked in for a air con test, was told they just stick a thermometer in the vent and give me a temp reading. I could of done that at home. I was expecting them to look at it and tell me what needed doing. That service costs £49. Which I paid only for it still not to be working! Don't be pulled in by cheap adverts go to your main dealer

I had an MOT for 29.99 it failed, no surprise there... but the quote I got was shocking!! yes I'm a woman but come on now 37.99 for a wing mirror?? (just the glass) when they are 7 quid!! 251 quid for back suspension!! its a corsa! been quoted 160 for that job! so yes I will go back to get my MOT but I would never use them to get the work done, to expensive!!! Don't even offer a cup of coffee while you wait! lol
when i booked the appointment online it advertised an easter special, 10 percent of the cost of the repair, this wasn't taken off my final invoice, the work carried out was to a good standard but felt let down by not having the 10 percent taken off.

This is the second time that I have used Halfords in Castle Marina and on both occasions I have found the staff to be helpful, clear and honest in their advice. They offer a great service and with very fair prices compared to a lot of other places. I would recommend them to anyone.
I have nothing but praise for the company on the day of my MOT and service. However, I missed my frat booked slot and there is not way of changing the slot time/date without re-booking the whole thing (a whole lot of money down the drain). They seem to be quite strict about this... But apart from that fab!
I was able to book in at a time that suited me, it was ready to collect sooner than expected so very little waiting time. I'm just still unsure about the extra I paid, a £22 charge for I think a change in oil. I am not the most clued up when it comes to cars so I don't know if this was needed or not. I was happy to pay the extra for the wheel balance as I know I didn't on a previous car and it did long term damage and cost a lot more.

I have been a regular user of the Castle Marina, Nottingham Branch of Halfords. They have always provided an excellent service and done a reliable and prompt job. Very good customer service. I feel that they have trusty, and reliable, staff who give an honest opinion of the particular needs to keep the car in good mechanical condition - not something that all folk in the garage/car maintenance industry provide!

I have used Halfords before, in preference to main dealers, for newish cars because of the price differential, and also the convenience for me for drop-off and collection. I have always been more than satisfied with the work and propose to continue to do so, once my cars are 3+ years old.

My car was accommodated at short notice and the problem diagnosed within a couple of hours. Unfortunately for me, the news was bad but Matt clearly explained the problems and offered me alternative solutions to what Halfords could provide. Job done and car returned on time, with the only issue being to remove the tightly fitted cling film around the steering wheel, handbrake and gear shift !!! I dropped my car off at 7:10am after my booking email had said it had to be there by 7:15am. The door was locked when I arrived and the guy at the counter got up to let me in, though he certainly wasn't happy about it. Didn't get a single smile or chatty comment from him whilst signing paperwork. Got a call at 10am ish from a much cheerier chap who explained the results on the MOT and let me know the car was ready for pick up. I picked the car up at lunch time and the cheery chap turned out to be the manager. He explained the results to me again and ensured I was happy with everything; what a lovely guy. They then moved cars around in the car park so I could get mine out!.

I"m happy with how smoothly the whole test went - from booking on-line, to bringing in the car to the auto service ( on Castle boulevard, Nottingham), the member of staff that picked the car and tested it was very professional, as well as the receptionist that handed in the paperwork at the end. I'm not usually a fan of halfords from past expeierences but halfords were the cheapest I could find for the tyre I wanted (Avon ZZ3 fully fitted) £88 I was on my hour lunch break when I went to get it done and was told it would take an hour! But as soon as I told them I was on lunch they got it done ASAP for me and they were short staffed only had 2 people on and all they put all the stuff back in the boot for me, space saver wheel, jack and covers which I'd just dumped in the back of the car thinking of have to put all that back in when I got home they even put the centre cap back on which was also in back of the car in the passenger rear footwell! All in all a very happy custom would recommend and use again! (This was the Nottingham branch castle)
Pleased with the service. But very disappointed they tried to sell me something I didn't need I had topped my engine oil up 2 weeks before and I was told by Halfords that the level of my oil was very low and I needed more. I declined this and when I later checked my oil it was at a sufficient level and not low Wish I had asked them to check it when I picked my car up. That would have been very interesting Basically trying to sell me something I did not need
I have no problem with the actual MOT (apart from the fact that every Halfords MOT somehow manages to find bulbs that have gone and need to be replaced.) The service was courteous etc etc and the price was cheap. No. The problem was that I had booked a 7.15 am slot in order to get it done before work and when I got there, there was no mechanic!? In fact there was no mechanic until after 8am and I didn't get the car back until 9.30. Thankfully I was able to rearrange work but really Halfords should only offer a service (no pun intended) if they can deliver.
I came to fix a break light, the people there were incredibly helpful and really friendly. I have little knowledge about cars, but they weren't condescending atall they where very efficient and got the job done whilst being approachable and kind. I would definitely go back again and would recommend them to a friend. Basically well done, this is the Nottingham branch within the Castle area. There was a blonde receptionist who was especially friendly I wish I could remember her name as she was really helpful and should get some recognition.
I would recommend Halford Autocentres. Been going to them for years. Always good value for money and honest!
I use the Castle Boulevard branch in Nottingham and can always rely on them to do an excellent job, whether it be a full service, MOT or replacement of worn or broken parts. They are both friendly and helpful and there is nothing that is too much trouble for them. They also provide very good value for money and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
