Q. Which car service should I choose?
Our three levels of service are designed to meet the varying needs of cars no matter their age, condition or history.
Interim Service - 6 month vehicle service
This 6 month, 35-point service is designed for the high mileage car user, or where the manufacturer recommends more frequent checks. This service helps maintain your vehicle and prevents unforeseen faults. Included are an oil and filter change and a wide range of checks on the fundamental items.
Full Service - 12 month vehicle service
This is a very comprehensive annual service for trouble free motoring. It exceeds most manufacturers service schedules with up to 67 checks and adjustments including changing the engine oil, oil filter and air filter. High quality parts are used such as Castrol Magnatec lubricants. We check and record wear and tear items using a colour code reporting system to give you peace of mind.
Major Service - 24 month vehicle service
This 24 month service covers all areas of essential maintenance. In addition to all the items included on the Full service we cover items that are regularly recommended for replacement every two years. This includes changing the air filter, brake hydraulic fluids, external fuel filter and spark plugs. By having the Major Service you make significant saving on the cost of purchasing these extra items separately.

Q. Will my manufacturer's warranty be invalidated if I don't have my car serviced by my dealer?
No - Halfords Autocentre carries out all services in accordance with the Vehicle Assembler's servicing schedules and only use parts manufactured to Original Equipment (OE) quality - which means that your manufacturer's warranty is protected.
Q. Do you use high quality parts?
Yes - all parts used by Halfords Autocentres are manufactured to Original Equipment (OE) quality.
Please note that there is an additional charge added in the Autocentre for platinum or long life spark plugs.
Q. Do you use high quality oil?
Yes - we recommend and use Castrol oils as standard for our services. As the leading supplier and best known brand of motor oils Castrol is well placed to offer the best quality oil to look after your engine, prolong its life and run as efficiently as possible. We can easily identify the right oil for your car whether it be Castrol GTX, Castrol Magnatec or Fully Synthetic Castrol Edge, which provides the latest engine protection technology and improved performance. If your car is one of the growing makes of cars that needs a specific specification of oil, these are available from Castrol and all but the most specialist are kept in stock by our Autocentres.
Q. How long is the work guaranteed for?
We're so confident in the quality of our car servicing, we guarantee all our work and parts for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever is sooner.
Q. Do you offer a manufacturer's service?
Yes - if you would like to have a manufacturer's service instead of one our menu services, please contact your local Autocentre for a quote specific to your vehicle.
