A few years ago when I was taking my car regularly to Arnold Clark for servicing and MOT's and encountered too many problems to list here both with service and honesty, I wrote a letter of complaint and over 2 separate occasions they had to refund me some money after making both admin and technical mistakes with my car. For that reason a couple of years ago I moved to Lawton Motors in Dundee and was so pleased with the service of James in reception as well as another James in the workshop I wrote a letter of thanks to not only thank them for the way I and my car were treated but to hopefully redress the balance a bit personally as I very rarely write any letters and here suddenly with 3 years I'd written 3 and all to garages.
On this occasion I must admit when I turned up last Friday and noticed that the garage was now in Halfords name I was a little wary as I thought it might possibly lose that personal touch. Glad to say I was worrying about nothing. Once again I had the pleasure of dealing with James in the reception as well as the girl who was on duty on Sat. Both were brilliant.I'd also asked to them to look for a possible starting issue which due to the fact that at this early stage nothing is obviously wrong with it so nothing was found. This investigation work was done FOC and I have to admit, it's the small things like that that make a huge difference when you are looking at leaving your car in the hands of a garage.
I think Halfords are very lucky to have acquired that garage with it's existing staff and I not only intend to carry on using it but have recommended it to just about everyone who ever brings up the topic of car servicing or MOT's. If you want to pass on this e-mail to that branch then I have no problems with that whatsoever.
