Cars are very emotive objects, especially to the male of the species. When they go wrong or when they don’t perform to the expectations of the owner, anger often follows. It is when one of these occurrences happens that the garage that has been commissioned to “sort the problem out” becomes the total obsession of the car owner until their prize possession is perfect again.
After being supplied by twenty five years of BMW company cars, it became a harsh reality after my company went into administration and after two Directors and myself bought the company out of administration, to realise that no self-respecting car dealership would provide a “new” company with the lease rental facility that I had come to expect for many years, basically I had to buy my own car.
I bought a second hand E class Mercedes which after the six month warrantee ran out I looked around to see where I could get it serviced. I was very suspicious of any other than main dealerships but I was also aware of my dwindling bank balance after sinking my life savings into buying the company, in essence I was looking for a more cost effective solution than a main dealership.
I asked a colleagues who he would recommend, I knew his wife’s car had not been looked after by a dealership, his choice was Nationwide and I am eternally grateful that I took his advice.
My first experience with Nationwide/Halfords was when I took my car into your Riversway, Preston branch for a service. There I met Corey the Manager and Peter the Assistant Manager. I found them both to be very professional, personable and patient. Their knowledge and understanding of the engineering side of my vehicle was very impressive, it made me feel very confident in leaving my car in their capable hands. I was informed by telephone during the service, by Corey that several “outside the service” requirements were needed to be carried out. They sort my permission before going ahead. The car was ready for collection at the time they specified and their well-defined and precise description of what they had found defective with the vehicle was made very clear to me.
Since this time I have taken my new car into Halfords Preston on several occasions along with my wife’s car and have always been extremely pleased with the work that has been carried out, also by the very friendly and courteous way that Corey, Peter and their staff have treated me. Consequently I have recommended Halfords Preston to several of my friends and family who were looking for a professional, well run and efficient car service/repair centre that we have all found Halfords Preston to be. As an elderly widow I know a little about my car except how to drive it. Therefore I am very lucky to have the support of Nationwide Autocentre, Riversway, Preston. Here I am always greeted in a friendly and courteous way by the manager or his deputy. They always see to any problems , large or small, these are quickly and efficiently dealt with by their staff.
I have used this garage for many years and their attention has been unfailingly good and is much appreciated by me.
