Following a serious breakdown with my Rover 75, due to the fact that I had an RAC Guarantee, I was guided by them to your Autocentre in James Mill Road Northampton, I garage I must admit would not have been my first choice. Unfortunately after initially fitting a head gasket along with other important ancillary jobs, my problems still persisted. However, I have to say that the staff at Halfords could not have been more helpful or conscientious; checking their first operations to ensure all was ok there, the correctly diagnosing a further problem and put it right. In passing I would like to commend Chris on Reception who kept me fully informed about my vehicle. Steve, who did all he could to sort out my problems and ‘go the extra mile’ and Dennis who could not have been more polite and helpful. I have to say that following this experience, Halfords will now be my Service centre of choice and I will do all I can to ensure that I will share this experience will all the car owners I know. I thought that you may be interested in my comments about your Northampton branch. My work takes me to different places and once a week I sit opposite your Northampton site for six hours at a time. The reason that I decided to use your centre is that over the last several months I have been impressed by the way your staff treat customer’s vehicles. Covers on seats and driven with complete respect. This means a lot to me personally I would be grateful if you could pass on my thanks to the staff there. We will be doing more business together in the future because of this.

We had taken our Ford to Kwik Fit for a Full Service and a renewal of our MOT. They quoted us £700, on top of the Full Service and MOT. We considered selling the car but first we looked to see if there were any better options. We went around the corner and we were informed by the mechanic there that "it's a big job, two days at least, couldn't quote it mate". He then told us we should try Kwik Fit. Can you believe this mechanic actually tried to give business away to a neighbouring mechanic? We couldn't. We then tried our closest Nationwide Autocentre in Northampton. We were met at the desk by a man called Neil. This amazing employee is the reason we checked our car into your business. He not only read our failed MOT and gave us (to the penny) exact quotes to fix all our 7 fails, but actually explained the worst case scenario to us as well. He informed us that they had worked on a car similar to ours just that week and that he knew exactly how to help us. He came out into the car park and immediately fixed our seatbelt catch as he said someone had recently come in with the same problem and it was a minor catch problem. Here is a mechanic and salesman who knows his trade. He filled us with total confidence and won us there and then even without the biggest perk! The total cost of the repairs was a fraction of what kwik fit quoted and came in just over £300. LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE! He fitted us in for 7 days later and the repairs took only a half day. We will never look anywhere else for our car troubles in future. We need new tyres in the next month and we'll be taking our car straight to Neil. Thank you to him and all the team in Northampton! I felt that my service at Northampton Autocentre was very good. The service I received was professional, friendly and efficient. As a woman I felt comfortable going to the centre and did not feel patronised in anyway.
