As per my conversation with you yesterday I wanted to pass on some positive feedback reference my MOT that took place this week on L4 CDX with Halfords Autocentre based in Robjohns Road in Chelmsford, Essex. If you could please escalate this within your customer Halfords Autocentre I would be very grateful as these two gentlemen should be directly praised and thanked for the way in which they dealt with the whole scenario and I know this wasn’t a one off for either of them as they didn’t know who I worked for initially.
First of all the week started slightly disastrously when I took the vehicle to Halfords Autocentre on Monday as per my VSM booking on the driver app confirmed as anytime from 9am on Monday 9th. I turned up at 9.50 at Halfords Autocentre in Robjohns Road in Chelmsford only to be advised the while you wait was booked for 9.30am and I had missed my slot (confirmed by VSM as they were notified by the garage of the 9.30- they forgot to tell me!). They did everything they could to accommodate but due to prior meeting commitments I had to rearrange for Tuesday 10th at 10.30 on the basis I had to be in Biggleswade at 2pm for a very important meeting with a customer which was about 100 miles away from the MOT station.
I arrived at 10.20 and was met by the same two cheery guys behind the counter who had put up with me the day before (Steve Prime and I am sorry but I didn’t get the other guys name and have checked 1 link but that doesn’t show it either!). They immediately got the car in for the MOT with their technicians whilst I sat in their reception. About 11am the technician came and notified me that the two rear tyres on my car were illegal due to holes in the side wall on both of them (!) that were down to the cords and therefore the car couldn’t move until two new tyres went on. Noticing the colour draining from my face the two guys behind the counter immediately got onto the phone and 1 Link and within 2 minutes I had Kwik Fit organising to fit 2 rear tyres to my car. By 12.30 pm the tyres had been fitted and the vehicle completed on the MOT allowing me to leave and I got to my meeting with 3 mins to spare.
The two guys at Halfords Autocentre and the manager at Kwik Fit in Chelmsford (Colin) were absolutely great and handled it all to get me mobile again as quickly as they possibly could. They did it all with a calm confidence whilst I was in a state of panic and got me to where I needed to be on time.
Not often they get good feedback so I would ask that you pass this on within Halfords Autocentre to ask for them to be congratulated and thank them on my behalf (again)- it was their team work between Halfords Autocentre and Kwik Fit that enabled me to get back on the road as quickly as I did. I would have no hesitation in recommending this centre to any of my local clients and would happily use them again myself.
