Halfords Autocentres Technician Will Elliott joins this season's Halfords Yuasa BTCC race team.

Halfords Autocentres Technician Will Elliott joined the Yuasa British Touring Car Competition (BTCC) race team at Donington Park on 15th - 16th April, for the second race of the season.

Race recap

Twenty-year-old Mercedes driver Aiden Moffat battled to his first BTCC race victory in a frenetic opening race.

Honda's Matt Neal and Handy Motorsport's Austin were close behind, completing the podium.

Despite some wet and windy conditions, Gordon Shedden flew to a comfortable victory ahead of Colin Turkington and Adam Morgan, but was soon disqualified due to a failed height test, in part down to the damage sustained at the start of the race.

Despite the damage, Will was on hand to support Mechanics One and Two with the preparation and upkeep of Gordon's number 52 Honda throughout the day.

Commenting on the day's events, Will said: ''What a weekend it has been, the real highs and lows of motorsport. I've had a blast. All the boys in the team have been great to work alongside and I'm learning a lot. The team has made me feel right at home from the start.''
